It started as a dare. It was December 2018… Christmas Night? Sometime between Christmas and New Year’s? Somewhere in there. Jenn and I were over at Erin and Brett’s for dinner. It was after the meal and we were hanging out over coffee when Brett started telling us about this game he and Erin play while they’re on long drives to keep each other entertained.

The Hollywood Fringe Festival is almost upon us! From June 8th to June 25th, over two hundred and fifty individual productions will be going up at venues across Hollywood.
Monthly Career Accountability Group Check-In for February/March 2023
So, I’m part of a Career Accountability Group. Basically, it’s a group of actors that come together monthly to hold themselves and each other accountable to doing the business and career work that is easy to ignore, neglect, or otherwise put off. Each member has a partner in the group, and partners check in with each other weekly. The group meets monthly to discuss our accomplishments for the previous month, share goals for the upcoming month, talk about news, share resources, and ask questions. Honestly, I find it absolutely invaluable.

So, how do we keep the cleaning budget from ballooning out of control? By making it ourselves using my tried and true, super-sexy, fabric-safe, no-stain washable stage blood recipe, that’s how!

Well, we’ve survived another Hollywood Fringe. I mean, barely. But we survived. This year’s festival was one of the most stressful I’ve ever experienced as a venue manager. However, as an actor, a producer, a designer, and a playwright, it was a complete success!
