That’s right! The Ninja Koalas are headed to The Land of the Midnight Sun!
Hmm. That actually sounds like it could be a sequel or spin-off. I’ll put a pin in that one.
Cyrano’s Theatre Company in Anchorage, AK has licensed an eight-performance run of Super Sidekick: The Musical, running Saturdays and Sundays at noon until April 23rd!
For those of you who haven’t heard of it, Super Sidekick is my family friendly children’s musical published by Concord Theatricals (formerly known as Samuel French). I developed the original playscript in 2006, then collaborated with the inimitable Michael Gordon Shapiro to interpolate the script into a musical in 2009. The musical premiered on my first wedding anniversary in 2010, directed by my wife! Jenn and I produced several more developmental productions of Super Sidekick: The Musical, including successful runs at the 2011 Hollywood Fringe Festival and the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival before the script was acquired by Samuel French later that year.
If you’re in Anchorage, I hope you’ll go and support Cyrano’s Theatre Company and experience Super Sidekick: The Musical, a real TYA treat of a show! If you’re not in Anchorage, you may still have a chance to catch it, as the company has also licensed streaming rights for their production! No details have been announced yet, but I’ll update this post as soon as we know more.

About Cyrano’s Theatre Company and Art Gallery
Cyrano’s is an award-winning theatre based in Anchorage, Alaska. They produce an eclectic menu of plays year-round in our 90-seat black box theatre. Since moving to their new location, Cyrano’s Theatre Building at 3800 Debarr Road, they now present visual art in Cyrano’s Gallery, and hold special events in their ArtSpace.
