This year, with most of the stages across the country dark since mid-March, Broadway World’s using their Regional Awards to celebrate the Best of the Decade, rather than their normal annual honors. Well, the nominations were just announced today, and I’m honored to say that Theatre Unleashed, my theatre company, received a whopping thirty-two nominations!
MATERIAL WEALTH (Basically King Lear) is a comedy short film created for the 2019 48-Hour Comedy Film Project. From award-winning Los Angeles production company Hold For Plane Pictures. When his wealthy parents pass away, down-on-his-luck Cooper appears to have once again been forgotten, but he soon learns a valuable lesson in what’s truly important. Plus, he meets a knight!
One of the many things we have at Theatre Unleashed is a playwriting unit. We swap pages and offer constructive critique. We pitch ideas and solicit feedback. We talk about elements of our current projects we’re struggling with. It’s a fun, laid-back, and supportive environment.
