Hey all! Holy crap, it's been a while since I posted on here. I was hoping I'd at least get a "2011 in review" post done at one point, but that didn't happen. Bummer, that. Looking back, 2011 was full of ups and downs - a pretty even mix of triumph and failure, gain and loss. It's the first year in a while that I don't really want to spend too much dwelling on. Instead, I'm already excited about the potential 2012 has. Everyone likes making resolutions during the New Year. I set goals. Hell, I make lists of goals, benchmarks and "to dos" almost every day. They can range from "get published by the end of the year" to "remember to change the cat litter tonight." These lists cover a pretty wide range, but with my ADD I need something like this to keep focused. So, without much further ado, here are my goals for 2012:

Personal

  • Participate in the 2012 Warrior Dash, Spartan Sprint, Run for Your Life Zombie 5k, Vegas Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon
  • Be able to run an 8-minute mile
  • Be able to do the 10 things a fit man can
  • Drop down to 10% Body Fat
  • Fight in a martial arts tournament
  • Start saving for a trip abroad with my wife for our 5th anniversary in 2014
  • See at least two of my favorite bands in concert this year
  • See the Red Sox play at least twice in California this year
  • See a Red Sox game at Fenway
  • Participate in the 2012 Script Frenzy
  • Participate in NaNoWriMo 2012
  • Update my blog at least once a week
  • See an average of a play a week
  • Read an average of one book a month

Acting Career

  • Get my headshots picked, cleaned up and posted on here
  • Assemble and post a new demo reel, including footage from Broken Spirits
  • Act in a 24-hour show at Theatre Unleashed (I've written and directed for them, but I've never acted in one)
  • Act in a show at another company (not leaving TU, just think it would be nice to see how another company does things)
  • Book a short film
  • Book a commercial

Friends Like These

  • Get the script published both in print and ebook format
  • Secure another production of the show with another company in 2012 or 2013

Up All Night

  • Get the script published in both print and ebook format
  • Start writing scripts for a second edition
  • Secure at least one performance of one of the scripts in the anthology in 2012 or 2013

Super Sidekick the Musical

  • Get the show website launched
  • Get the show to FringeNYC
  • Submit the script to publishers

So yeah, that's a pretty lofty list. I don't think I'll be able to accomplish all of it, but I think I can realistically hit 50-75%. It's going to take a lot of planning and a lot of work, but I think I can do it. It's shaping up to be an exciting year!
